Professor of Economics
Leila is a Senior-economist and Professor in Economics. Graduated with a PhD in Economics from the University of Paris-X Nanterre- France (Summa cum laude: Mention très honorable avec les félicitations du jury), she collaborates with several business schools and universities as a Professor in Economics. She is currently leading a research project on how artificial intelligence has reshaped the global economy. She regularly attends conferences to contribute to the 2030 agenda on AI, south-south cooperation, and sustainable development. After her PhD, she pursued an academic career–both lecturing and research–at the University of Paris X, which enabled her to move into the business of international cooperation. On an assignment for a prestigious oil group, Sonatrach, she led the "corporate university" project. She then took part in the MEDA 1 and MEDA 2 programs, as well as the Union for the Mediterranean. During this period, she attended several conferences, published scientific articles, and led various research projects. Her international career (Paris, Algiers, Frankfurt, Geneva and Rome) has been an opportunity to acquire intellectual and cultural flexibility, providing a fresh angle on global economic issues, handling heterogeneous groups of students (MBA and DBA) with a structured, interactive and dynamic pedagogical approach. Delighted to have guided many students since restarting her academic career, and to have empowered them to achieve their goals. The first job she wanted to do when she was a kid was to become a lawyer. Life is full of surprises.
