Professor of Computer and Decision Science
Paolo is a professor of Computer Science and Decision Science. Born in Turin in 1967, Paolo graduated with honors in electronic engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin in 1992. After completing his military service as a Reserve Officer in the Army, he began his professional career in 1994 at the Telecom Italia Research Center, where he contributed to the definition of standards for 3G mobile telephony and the design of the backbone of the first national internet network. Employed by Cisco in 1997, he initially served as a pre-sales engineering designer before assuming the managerial leadership of an entire design team in 2001. Still at Cisco in 2009, he was promoted to lead the partnership with the Leonardo-Finmeccanica group, where in 2013 he achieved the prestigious milestone of signing a globally significant strategic partnership. Since 2017, Paolo has been collaborating with startups to develop business in the software sector, particularly in distinctive solutions within the realm of Business Analytics and decision support systems. Outside of his professional endeavors, Paolo is actively involved in social causes as an active member of the Rotary Club Roma Antropos and a master swimmer, despite always fearing keeping his head underwater.
